After overseeing his team progress to the next round of the Nigeria Football Federation Federation cup, Rangers Football Club of Enugu interim coach, Chukwuma Agbo has boasted that his team has the capacity to win the double, the CAF Confederation cup and the Nigeria Premier League by the end of this season.
Speaking with 2muchsports.com in Abuja, Agbo stated that it is the team only way to show appreciation to the governor of the state who he said had demonstrated tremendous support to them which has seen then top the NPFL table for most part of the season.
He attributed their current second position on the NPFL log table to the injuries that hit several of their star players. He however stated they would soon bounce back to the top of the table if they are able to win their outstanding match.
“If we win our outstanding away match with El Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday by God’s grace we shall be back on top of the league table,’ he said. He assured their fans world over of their resolve to surpass the semi final stage of the confederation cup and go all the way to winning the tournament for their fans and the governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
On the his impression about the standard of the league after the first stanza, Coach Agbo rated the first stanza very high in the area of security and officiating. “As you can see some teams can now go away to get a win. Unlike what we have before in the same league where the home teams were sure of winning their three points whether they play well or not,” he said.
