Former coach of Enyimba football club of Aba, Kadiri Ikhana has stated that his former team has the experience to go all the way to the final of the current CAF Champions league and even winning it.
Speaking with 2muchsports.com on the chances of Enyimba making it out of the group stage, Ikhana advises that all they needed to do to achieve it is to target getting some vital away points.
Nigeria champions and two time winners of the African most prestigious club competition trophy, Enyimba International of Aba,were drawn in group B,alongside five time winners,Zamalek of Egypt , Algerian Entete Setif and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
“Enyimba has what it takes to winning the treble this season. For the champions league, they can progress from the group stage. All they need to do to target progressing is getting some away points and make sure they get their maximum home points.
‘They have the experience because they have done it before, so finding their way out of the group may not be too difficult for them. They have the winning mentality already,” He said.
The first games of the champions League will be played on the 17th of next month. This will be Enyimba’s 7th appearance in the group stage.
